Project Brief

Project Background

To facilitate the safe and efficient movement of traffic on these expressways and the current road network, the Authority is implementing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology. This Project, managed by the Authority’s Road Design Department (RDD), is for the implementation of roadside ITS across eight (8) Roadway Schemes.

Project Roadway Schemes

1. Expressway project 1 – F Ring Road; is approximately eight point seven 8.7 km in length and is an operational road.
2. Expressway project 2 – Salwa Road; is approximately seven (7) km in length and is an operational road.
3. Expressway project 4 – Dukhan Central; is approximately fifteen (15) km in length.
4. Expressway project 6 – East Industrial; is approximately three and a half (3.5) km in length, is currently an operational road.
5. Expressway project 10 – East-West Corridor; is approximately eleven (11) km in length, is currently under construction with an expected civils construction project close around really-2019.
6. Expressway project 11 – East-West Corridor; is approximately 10km in length, is currently under construction with an expected civilsconstruction project close around early 2019.
7. C Ring Road; is approximately nine (9) km in length, is an operational road and open to live-traffic.
8. Corniche; is approximately eight (8) km in length, is an operational road and open to live-traffic.
